Hopeless love for a married man, caused Nellie Lamont, inmate of a house of ill-fame, to murder her lover, Albert Wenrich, a saloonkeeper of this city, and then attempt to take her own life.

Wenrich, who was of magnificent physique, was last seen in the room occupied by the woman in Clara Devine's Resort at 4:30 o'clock yesterday morning. When the police entered the place Wenrich was cold in death and the woman lay groaning in mortal agony on the floor, a bullet in her throat.

Wenrich was 38 years of age, and a former policeman on the Butte force. The woman is a Spaniard and once before attempted to kill Wenrich by cutting the arteries in his wrist. She is in a local hospital and not expected to live.
