Shingle mill

Found through www.genealogybank.com
From the Tacoma Daily News 1898-01-19
The Duff shingle mill, at Kelso, has been rented to Umiker & Brewer, of Castle Rock, who will take possession about the 20th inst. This firm has about 1000 cords of bolts at the mouth of the Cowlitz river, and they will be brought to the mill on scows and cut into shingles. The firm has rented the Edlin building and will board most of the men.
