Man Crushed, Dies at Wabamun--- J. A. Uniker (sic), Marwayne, Is Fatally Hurt Monday --- Crushed when a load of lumber on which he was riding crashed to the ground near Wabamun Monday, J. A. Uniker, 31, Marwayne, Alberta, suffered injeries which resulted in his death a few hours later. No decision as to an inquest has been reached as yet.
Police report that Uniker, an employe of the provincial public works department was riding on a trailer loaded with lumber. The load slipped off the trailer and Uniker was caught beneath it. A Hudson, who was riding with Uniker, escaped with a slight shaking up. The injured man was rushed to University hospital at 8:00 p.m. Death took place at 11:00 p.m.
Funeral arrangements are in the hands of Foster and McGarvey. Deceased is survived by his widow and son at Marwayne and by his mother, resident in Toledo, Wash.

--Update: Donna Dahlman Wright has informed me that James' wife was named Violet. Their son was Jimmy. When Violet married again, her husband, Mr. MacInnes, adopted Jimmy.
