Funeral Service Held Wednesday
Susie Umiker Lewallen, wife of Charles Lewallen, passed away early Monday morning, February 3, at the Kelso Hospital. She was taken to the hospital about two o'clock Sunday afternoon, suffering from heart trouble.
Mrs. Lewallen was the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Abe Umiker, living west of town. Mr. Umiker was one of the early settlers of the Toutle country. She was born here in the house now occupied by Frank Hubbard, October 27, 1904. She received her education here, graduating from the local High school.
Surviving are her husband and two small children, Juanita, 6, and Jimmie 4; her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Abe Umiker; three sisters, Doris and Dorothy, twins, and Mrs Margaret Sowders of Longview; two brothers Abe and Charles.
Funeral services were held Wednesday afternoon at the Scholz and Hubbard Chapel, conducted by Rev. Cole, Adventist, from Kelso. Interment was in Whittle cemetery.
